I was checking through old pics of Uta and I found this abnormality. First pic, he was having veins which proves that is a real kakugan, but it is the LEFT eye. In second pic, why didn’t Ishida draw his iris for the RIGHT eye, only to have it filled with blackness? And the last pic, he was pointing toward his RIGHT eye, saying it is a tattoo. What if he wasn’t lying? Uta really did tattooed his RIGHT eye in order to trick everyone into believing he is a full ghoul? I don’t think I even need to mention how Uta never uses his kagune ( and how easy to spot a half ghoul kakuja). lidsworth and lichtvorbei: what do you think abt this?

Cool! I suppose that would connect a lot to his neck tattoo, the balance between humans and ghouls? I like the idea. I’m not 100% believing of it, but It does make a lot of sense. Especially with him eating normal eyes? If he were a half ghoul, maybe he’s upset that he is? So he shows a lot of his disdain towards his human side.

My only argument is that he has a great sense of smell, which artificial half ghouls don’t have (like Kaneki), and that no one close to him has said anything about it (I take it they would have easily been able to tell). Also, you can get the white part tattooed, but not your iris. That’s impossible. Unless he was born with it red, I don’t think he can change that.

But then  Maybe he’s a natural born half ghoul? That’s why his regenerative skills are so good? That’s why he specifically says “This” is a tattoo, and maybe that’s why he took an interest in him?

But I also  have an idea that to be able to reintegrate as well as he does, he was experimented on. I want to say that he’s a natural born half ghoul if he is one, but I think Ishida has a lot more twists with his character. But Uta being a half ghoul is very plausible.

About the sense of smell, you can train it to be efficient. Kaneki is just not the sharpest guy around you see and he is not the half ghoul standard we should compare to , the probable one should be Eto since she grew up in ghoul society just like Uta. It may also explain why he is so fascinating with human world.

You can put contact lenses on the iris, it is doable ^^.

True, maybe he was abandoned too? I think he certainly could be a half ghoul, but i’m debating on whether by experimentation or being naturally born. And uta does eat other ghouls, I think, so he may be trying to maintain a Kakuja (he’s done it so well that he can mimic faces).
So uta being a half ghoul is certainly plausible.

I don’t know if he can mimic faces since he can craft perfect human masks… imo, uta was trained and raised by a smart ghoul family. He can read books and good with words and emotion reading. Uta is very very well-educated. Those things are hard to come by unless you are an elder like Yoshimura.

True. I almost wonder if it could have been an institution or something. Idk, Ishida needs to show us more about his character!
