Owen Perry Captures Stunning Photos of Tatio Geyser Field in Chile

Canadian-based visual artist and interactive web designer, Owen Perry, returned from the largest geyser field in the southern hemisphere - El Tatio - with these magnificent shots. Sheltered in the Andes Mountain in Chile, El Tatio offers plenty of opportunities for any greedy photographer to feast on its natural array of bubbling pools, ancient mineral formations.

The photographs explore the textures and colors of a primordial form of nature in this volcanic location. They have been taken at this frothing valley of rock pools and skilfully tinted and left in high contrast. The photographer has cleverly applied this technique to expose the unusual blue, purple, violet and pink tones that are usually hard to find in nature.

The photographs have been taken at the precise moment when dawn has cracked over the effervescent field of over 80 geysers, allowing the artist to make use of the steam that plays with the light. The overall result of the series is a  magical vibe without the distractions of unnecessary moving bodies.

He has an incredible collection of travel and landscape photography and his evident experience allows him to capture mystical photos in the largely popular tourist attraction that is El Tatio.
